A Wedding at Castello Vicchiomaggio in Chianti Tuscany
Some weddings end with the feeling that the day became exactly what the couple had hoped for. This wedding at Castello Vicchiomaggio, in Chianti, was one of them.
The couple and their guests travelled from America with an idea we loved from the start: to make the wedding feel like an Italian holiday shared with their favourite people. They pictured something understated, elegant and refined, with an atmosphere that would allow everyone to feel at ease and enjoy being together.
Tuscany gave us a beautiful day. As it unfolded, their vision came to life through a heartfelt ceremony, a relaxed afternoon, speeches over dinner at sunset and a dance floor full of energy.

A ceremony that drew everyone in
The ceremony was deeply felt, by the guests as much as by the couple. You could see how much it meant to the people watching, and how closely they were sharing in the moment.
As photographers, our attention naturally moves between the couple and the people around them. The promises being made are at the centre of the story, but so are the reactions of those listening. When friends and family have travelled so far to be there, those photographs become a meaningful part of the memory.
There was so much feeling in this part of the day, and photographing it meant staying attentive to what was happening beyond the most obvious moments.

Settling into the Italian holiday feeling
After the ceremony, everyone began to relax over the buffet. There was time to talk, enjoy the food and take in the setting together.
This was when the couple’s wish for an Italian holiday atmosphere felt especially present. People could settle into the day and enjoy each other’s company, with room to linger.
The elegance they had imagined felt easy and welcoming. It gave the celebration a lovely sense of occasion while allowing everyone to make themselves at home.

Sunset dinner, heartfelt speeches and plenty of laughter
Dinner at sunset brought another wave of emotion. The speeches moved between laughter and heartfelt words, with funny memories giving way to moments that visibly touched the couple and their guests.
We love photographing this part of a wedding. While one person speaks, so much happens around the table: the couple’s reactions, the faces of friends and family, the laughter spreading from one guest to the next.
Together, these moments tell you something about the relationships behind the celebration. They are often the photographs that bring back far more than the words of a speech.

An evening of letting loose
Then came the dancing, and everyone threw themselves into the party. The emotion of the ceremony and dinner gave way to an evening of pure enjoyment, with the couple and their guests making the most of it.
What stays with us about this Chianti destination wedding is the feeling that the couple’s wish truly came to life. They brought their loved ones to Tuscany for an elegant, relaxed celebration and gave them the experience of enjoying a little piece of Italy together.
Looking back through the photographs, that is what we see. We are so glad we were there to capture it.
